Vodafone:Then and now
Vodafone, the world’s biggest mobile network operator, expects to return to underlying service revenue growth in the year ending March 31 2011, underpinned by growth in mobile data and fixed broadband. Cost cutting came in ahead of schedule enabling commercial reinvestment to improve market share and further strengthen their technology platforms.
Since Vodafone’s entry into India in 2007, the government has issued six additional national mobile licences, propecia online buy triggering intense price competition and with bids for the national 3G spectrum passing the $3 billion mark and climbing, the market there is set to remain tough. Vodafone, together with rivals, it aims to collaborate with Indian telecom buying acomplia regulator to slap a one-time fee on major operators that own excess 2G spectrum.
Vodafone is the second biggest player in India with 21% of the market behind Bharti Airtel Ltd. Vodafone recently added 32 million customers in India, taking its total to 100 million in a country with a population of more than one billion and that’s still just a very good going.
